Into the Valley 2015 - Friday 1st - Sunday 3rd May 2015

ITV 2015

Some 2,500 rally goes enjoyed the first Yorkshire MAG Rally of the season, held on the first weekend of May, at South Dalton Estate in the East Riding of God's own County. It was a tad cold on the Friday evening and reports abound of bikes and tents covered in thick white frost first thing in the morning. Thankfully, most folks had very sensibly headed to the main marquee on the Friday night, to enjoy the collective body heat of their fellow rally goers (I doubt it was the beer or the excellent bands playing that night that had pulled people into the tent ;-)

No doubt the bonfires in the fires field also provided welcome warmth.

The Custom Show Winners

ITV has a fires and a no fires camping field, together with a large communal bonfire, so you have the luxury of choice (between being warm or not warm LOL)

Saturday was cold but it stayed dry all day. The BSH sponsored ride-in Custom Show was held on the Saturday afternoon, and had around 30 bikes entered. This was slightly down on previous years numbers, although the quality of the entrants remained consistently high. Selina Lavenda, MAG's new Chair and a BSH journalist judged the show, and everyone seemed very much in agreement with their decisions.

Meanwhile, whilst the custom show was on, the comedy show was in the main marquee and was again rammed with standing room only. The local cakes went down very well indeed, raising funds for charity, following the village hall ladies bake off. For those who didn't want to stay on site, and fancied a trip to the local pub instead, luxury executive travel had been laid on.

A new stall for this year was Bernie Bumms, selling various chilli sauce products. Pretty much the entire rally must have visited that stall over the weekend, and their mega hot one, the aptly named 'Rim Reaper' should come with it's own Government Health Warning ..... you don't need a big helping !! Naturally, a bottle was purchased ;-). They are going to be at the Farmyard Party and Yorkshire Pudding Rally too, so be sure to try it !!!

Saturday night followed the familar theme of fun and merriment. Sunday unfortunately was chucking it down, so people got very wet packing up to go home. However, everyone who went had a cracking time and the ITV Facebook page is full of rave reviews, compliments, thank you's and best wishes to the organisers.
