Wakefield MAG 4th Bingo Night - Wednesday 19th October 2016

4th Bingo Night

We held our 4th Bingo Night (but the first in 2016) on Wednesday 19th October at the Grey Horse, and it was great to again see the room full of around 40 eager Bingo Fans, all ready to blow 20p per ticket, for the cash and prize bingo, plus all the other raffle games we had lined up.

We had promised lot's of hilarity and we didn't disappoint.

We had some new bingo tickets this time round which were nicely divided into 3 games, which eased the queues as everyone bought at least 3 games at a time.

The bingo started around 8:15 and it wasn't long before Karen & Lorna both claimed the first line (that would normally have netted the winner a fiver, but they had to share the prize, so got £2.50 each - still a jolly good return for a 20p stake). With the first line claimed, we were then playing for the full house (and a prize of a tenner). Leeds MAG's Keithy Bear was the first to get the full house (and a tenner). The next game was for the prize bingo, and Wakefield's very own Mr Whittaker won a toy dog (just what he always wanted).

Next was cash bingo again and so on. We played 9 games in total with 6 line winners and 6 full house winners, winning cash prizes and a further 3 games of 6 prize winners, so there were plenty of happy people. It has to be said though, it's not easy and you need to concentrate hard, especially if you play six tickets at once, your eyes are darting about like a kids in a sweet shop looking for the numbers ... it would have been quite stressful if it hadn't been for the copious amounts of beer !!!

We also sold our 'normal' raffle tickets in the break, to win a tenner (our weekly meeting raffle usually nets the winner a fiver). This was won by Wakefield MAG's Neil.

As well as the standard cash and prize bingo, we also had a prize raffle, for the many prizes on offer, including multiple boxes of chocolates, multiple bottles of wine and spirits and other goodies.

Plenty of Prizes to Win

Nine winners came away with a prize (Wakefield MAG's Geoff even won two ... the greedy boy).

Our last game was a 1-90 draw, the winning number being the last one which netted the full house win on our 9th (and last) game of bingo of the evening. Grace was the winner of this draw, and walked away with £30 (a very good return for a £1 ticket).

We are very pleased to announce the Bingo raised £300 on the night, broken down as:

What a great result, a fantastic night was had by all, and the promised hilarity was delivered in spades !!!

Johnno can hardly contain his excitement

All the proceeds are going to the MAG Fighting Fund, which will be richer to the tune of three hundred quid !!! Our last bingo night raised £163.76 so it is somewhat of an understatement to say we were all 'cock-a-hoop' with this result.

A huge thanks to Chas, our genial Bingo caller, Terry the bingo card seller and official record keeper, Lorna, Laura and Sharon our raffle ticket sellers, Martin who did the rounds collecting spent cards / tickets, and our course, everyone who turned up and made it a most successful and enjoyable night.

There is lots of demand for another one, which we'll book for sometime in February / March next year (a nice event to look forward to in the winter months), so hope to see you there.
