Seven riders on five bikes met at the Grey Horse on Sunday 22nd May for the rideout to Cleethorpes and the NE Lincs MAG Grand Day Out event. After a discussion about the weather (which was terrible), it was decided to go via the M62, then the M180.
Daz led the rideout with a first stop in Doncaster to appease the nicotine addicts, then onwards with the wind buffeting everyone about, arriving around 11:40 in Cleethorpes.
We met up with Mick, Igor, Corinne & Tracey on our arrival in Cleethorpes. Then it was time for the obligatory seaside fish & chips. Chas tried to upset Meerkat by asking for an OAP special priced lunch but it backfired as they were too busy and wouldn't do one that day. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh, Chas not happy but Meerkat over the moon, as it meant Chas getting his hand in his pocket a wee bit deeper (past the tanners and threpny bits !!!)
After lunch, we met Barnsley MAG members Bob, Lynne, Lee, Richard & Janet who had also had a rideout to the event. In the custom show, we saw Sue's old trike on display, together with other bikes which had been at our own Wakefield Hospice bike show, earlier that month.
After numerous cups of tea and ciggies, it was time to make our respective ways home, Corinne & Igor (our resident Lincolnshire splitters), back to nearby Spilsby, with the rest of us heading back to the Merrie City.
A good day had by all. Congratulations to NE Lincs MAG for hosting the day, and looking forward to the re-visit next year.
