Steve Travis, Branch Chairman & Rep opened the meeting at 21:10 hrs. Jane Chisholm, Yorkshire Regional Rep was formally welcomed to the meeting as Yorkshire Region observer. All members in the branch area had previously been notified in writing, via the December 2004 mailshot, of the date, time, venue and agenda for the AGM. The details of the AGM were also publicised in the December/January issue of Streetbiker, on the branch website (http://wakefield.mag-uk.org) and the MAG website (www.mag-uk.org).

The minutes of the previous AGM (for the 2003 year), held on Thursday 15th January 2004, were circulated. These minutes were proposed by Phil Statham and Seconded by Ian Whittaker as being a true and accurate account of that meetings proceedings.

Overall, the branch had raised nearly £2,400 for the MAG fighting fund and £170 for the MAG Foundation through various activities, including: · Funded startup costs of Bradford & Doncaster MAG Branches (£100) · Sold 25 ITV tickets (£250) · Sold 50 FYP tickets (£900) · Post Christmas Auction, raising £135 for the MAG Foundation · Biker Quiz Nite, raising £35 for the MAG Foundation · Donation from Branch funds to Yorkshire MAG (£650) · Sold 411 Daytona Raffle Tickets (sold 165 in 2003) · Sold 35 York MAG raffle tickets · Sold 35 Leeds MAG raffle tickets

· Fred Hill 20th Anniversary Memorial Run (Sunday 15th Feb), attended by 40-50 bikes (21 bikes from Wakefield) · Post Christmas Auction, raising £135 for the MAG Foundation · Supported other Yorkshire MAG branch events & meetings: · York MAG (Brewery Tour, Fibbers Xmas Do & Mid-Summer Auction) · Huddersfield MAG (Twelvety Party) · Rideout to Bradford MAG meeting · Major Branch involvement in the organisation and running of the YPR, which raised £5,337.10 for the MAG Fighting fund · Biker Quiz Nite Thur 27th May · En-masse attendance at ITV, FYP, YPR & STC, with a significant number of members marshalling these events · Attended FYP marshals briefing in Beverley · Cinema Trip (Motorcycle Diaries at Bradford Pictureville Cinema) · Had 3 well attended Pub crawls · Held 15 branch rideouts, both on Sundays and weekday evenings, to various shows, events and places of interest

Justine Travis, as branch treasurer, presented an overview of the branch accounts and financial position. Igor Duma and Ian Whittaker, our branch auditors, verified these accounts as a true and accurate portrayal of the branches financial position.

One motion was submitted prior to the AGM: Adopt an informal nickname for the branch A vote was taken as to whether to adopt a branch nickname, which would appear on the branch flag and/or other products. Votes for: 11 Votes against: 0 Abstentions: 2 An initial suggestion of ‘The Double Two Crew’ was proposed by Ray Thorpe. In the absence of other proposals, this was put to the vote: Votes for: 6 Votes against: 3 Abstentions: 3 The ‘Double Two Crew’ was adopted as the interim informal branch nickname although it was agreed to get further proposals (in person at branch meetings and proxy suggestions via e-Newsletter email) and vote on these at a later meeting (set for early March).

Steve Travis as Rep outlined the objectives and branch development plan for the forthcoming year (2005): · Continue to work with Wakefield Council for: · Secure motorcycle parking within Wakefield and the surrounding district · Consultation within the Working Parties for the Motorcycling Strategy within the West Yorkshire Local Transport Plan 2006-2011 · Support of MAG National initiatives & campaigns · Make contact with all local Wakefield MPs & councillors · Run the 2005 Yorkshire Pudding Rally in conjunction with other Yorkshire MAG branches · Attend another Wakefield Carnival/Gala · Wakefield Charity event (Wakefield Hospice) · Major emphasis on growing the branch (aggressive recruitment drive, promotion & publicity) · Forge better links with local motorcycle clubs · Continue to support other local MAG groups with their activities · Hold more ride-outs and social events · Wakefield MAG Touring holiday · Road Condition Survey in the Wakefield area · New Member letter

The meeting was attended by 13 branch members. Jane Chisholm attending the Branch AGM as Regional Rep for Yorkshire confirmed that it had been conducted in a legitimate and constitutional fashion. The meeting closed at 22:00 hrs.
