3) Our Biker Buddies

We have a mention in the Summer Leeds, Wakefield and District RSPCA Branch Newsletter, in an article aptly titled 'Our Biker Buddies' ......

In March we were very happy to welcome the Wakefield Motorcycle Action Group Bikers back to our brach as they did their 'local charity rescue run'.

This is the third year they have visited us! They brought food and treats for the animals, plus a wonderful donation.

We gave them a tour around our centre and to say thank you for their generosity, we asked them if they wanted to name our new GSD girl, they did and our new girl is now called Maggie.

Thank you Bikers!

Check out our own event report for our March Pet Food Run Here. And we are also pleased to report that Maggie has since been adopted and now has a new home !!!

4) Rally Tickets for Sale

Last call for anyone who wants Edinburgh MAG Ag Ol Anns An Achadh Rally tickets .... we still have tickets for sale (at £14) but as the rally is rapidly approaching (Friday 14th - Sunday 16th June) let me know soon. Further details on the Edinburgh MAG web site: edinburgh.mag-uk.org

Whilst on the subject of rallies, tickets for the Farmyard Party and the Yorkshire Pudding rally are still for sale at the weekly branch meetings ... but not for much longer:

These events collectively provide the vast majority of the vital funds MAG needs to fight the political fight. These events help keep Big Brother out of Biking or as we like to call it, Partying with a Purpose.

5) MAG Resignation - Statement to Members

On the 28th May, the resignation of Nich Brown - MAG's General Secretary - was received by MAG Central Office. The Board has accepted the resignation.

The office continues to function as normal with the sterling efforts of Julie Sperling and Carol Ferrari, who continue to work as usual and enjoy a cordial relationship with the Board who are consulting with them; and also with MAG's National Committee, as to how best MAG's Central Office can be configured to undertake the work MAG requires.

The Board particularly wishes to place on record its appreciation for the efforts of Julie and Carol during what has been a difficult time, and for the forbearance of MAG's Members.

The Board is now working to re-staff the organisation appropriately and make MAG Central Office fit for purpose. It will advertise the post in The Road magazine and in other media.

Again, we thank you, MAG's Members, for your forbearance during this difficult time, for your heart-warming support, your unremitting work and most of all your unstinting generosity, which makes all of MAG's work possible.

John Mitchell
National Chairman

7) Ferg Patches

We sold out of our allocation of Fergus O'Connell memorial patches a good while ago. However, we have been donated (Thanks Dave) a few more of these limited edition patches, so have a few more for immediate sale. All proceeds go to MAG so a minimum donation of £4 is suggested (but feel very free to donate much much more !!!).

Let me know if you want one, as once they are gone, they are gone !!!

As the late great Ferg always said 'Never in the field of human transport have so many been represented by so few'.

Buy your patch and wear it with pride. RIP Fergus O'Connell 1962-2012.
