Wakefield MAG Bike Show at the Wakefield Hospice Summer Fayre - Saturday 14th July 2007

Wakefield MAG hosted a bike show at the Wakefield Hospice Summer Fayre, at the QEGS Playing fields, on Saturday 14th July. We were lucky to have a hot and dry day, in stark contrast to the constant rain, both before and after the day. The bike show was a huge success, and was a great attraction at the Fayre, which did suffer a few ‘no-shows’ from various stands, who had been put off by the weather.

We had around 25 bikes in the show (more than many rally bike shows!!) and had entrants from as far afield as Manchester. As in previous years, we took photos of kids sat on the bikes (for a donation to the Hospice) and made £56.59 as a result. The Summer Fayre itself raised over £2,000, for this very worthy local charity.

There were some quality bikes on show which made the judges decision all that much harder. However, the difficult choices were made, the show was judged at 3:00pm and the winners were:

The Trophies

There was a great turnout from Wakefield MAG members and everyone had a brilliant time. The Fayre organisers were delighted with the bike show and we will be attending again next year, with the aim of growing the bike show into an annual ‘must attend’ event. I’ll let you know the date of next year’s Fayre and bike show in due course.

A Huge thanks to Sue & Lorna on the Wakefield MAG Social Committee for organising the bike show prizes and certificates, which went down really well with the winners.
