Steve Travis, Branch Chairman & Rep opened the meeting at 21:10 hrs. Andy Timms, Yorkshire Regional Rep was formally welcomed to the meeting as Yorkshire Region observer. All members in the branch area had previously been notified in writing, via the December 2005 mailshot, of the date, time, venue and agenda for the 2005 AGM. The details of the AGM were also publicised in the December 2005/January 2006 issue of The Road, on the branch website (http://wakefield.mag-uk.org) and the MAG website (www.mag-uk.org). |

with Wakefield Council for provision of secure motorcycle parking within
Wakefield and the surrounding district, following the agreement by Wakefield
Council to provide this; ·
Conduct a road
condition survey with the Wakefield area; ·
Make contact with
all local Wakefield MPs & councillors and float idea of a motorcycle
forum; ·
Attend another
Wakefield Carnival/Gala (Wakefield Hospice Garden Party et al); ·
Marshal Wakefield
Hospice 10K road race; ·
Initiate Major
recruitment drive; ·
Continue to support
other local MAG groups with their activities; ·

Ian Whittaker, as one of our branch auditors, verified these accounts as a true and accurate portrayal of the branches financial position. Awards were presented for the branch heroes of 2005, based on points accumulated by members for attendance/participation in MAG/Branch events over the course of the year. · Most attendance’s at MAG events, Branch events and meetings: Liz Ward (900 points) · Most attendance’s runner-up: Eddie Johnson (845 points) · Most attendance to Branch meetings on a bike: Jake Halsall (13) · Chairman’s Award (Biggest contributor to the Branch): Ian Whittaker (for political successes with Wfd Council) · Honourable mention: Eddie Johnson (for promotions work) |

AOB: · Thanks were given to Steve for all his work as Rep by Phil Statham and endorsed by the Group; · Discounts in local (Wakefield) bike shops to be pushed; · IW suggested we compile a list of destinations, then hold a raffle to lead the monthly rideouts, and select a destination from the pre-compiled list (to avoid the usual ‘where shall we go’ dilemmas); · JH suggested that on the last weekend of every month we set off and camp overnight somewhere on the Saturday night; · IW suggested having a Bike Safe cop as a guest speaker for a Wednesday meeting; · WL suggested that we add a list of specialised links to the website for servicing / manufacturers recommended settings etc; · CD asked for a website advert to promote Stork Lodge Tea Rooms. |

The meeting was attended by 11 branch members. Andy Timms attending the Branch AGM as Regional Rep for Yorkshire confirmed that it had been conducted in a legitimate, fair, constitutional and democratic manner. The meeting closed at 22:00 hrs.
