There is a critical vote by the MEP committee discussing these draconian EU Regulations, at the start of October. This demo, was to raise awareness of the sheer strength of feeling against this legislation and it has achieved that in spades. However, we now need as many people as possible to contact their MEP's and get them to support our call for this legislation to be rejected.

A slight change to our 10th Birthday Party arrangements as advertised in last months newsletter.
The party is still on Saturday 14th January 2012, but instead of a band we are having a rock disco and karaoke (for those brave / drunk enough). The venue has also changed and will be our much loved HQ, the Grey Horse. Oh, and another notable change ... the party is FREE entry to all Wakefield MAG members and friends !!!!!
Come along and celebrate the most momentous occasion of Wakefield MAG's 10th Birthday !!!
Wakefield MAG's 2011 Christmas Do will be held on Saturday 3rd of December (quite scarily close !!!!). This year we are going for a lunchtime Chinese 'All You Can Eat' buffet, at the Chinese Buffet in Trinity Walk. We will meet for the buffet at 13:00, then, following the buffet, we are going to do the 'world famous' Westgate Walk pub crawl, in the afternoon, starting in town, and working our way down Westgate. This gives lots of options for just coming for the meal, joining us at one of the Westgate Walk pubs, or both !!!!
The lunchtime buffet costs £6.95. Let me know as soon as possible if you want to come along to the buffet as we need numbers for the booking, which we will making in the next couple of weeks.

The Yorkshire Region MAG Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday 22nd October at Barnsley Rugby and Football Club (where Barnsley MAG meet), Shaw Lane, Barnsley, S70 6HZ. Meeting from 13:00 with the official proceedings starting at 13:30.
The AGM is your opportunity to hear about all the regions great achievements, as well as have a say in how the region is run. It's also the opportunity to vote for the forthcoming years regional officers:

Our hotly contested annual biker quiz nite is at 8:00pm on Wednesday 23rd November 2011 at the Grey Horse, Kirkgate, Wakefield. Continuing last years popular revised format, there will be 60 questions, 30 of which will be motorcycle related and 30 will be general knowledge (but there will be a bike related link / theme somewhere, however tenuous).
Will Wakefield MAG win back the trophy from Sheffield & Rotherham MAG, last years winners (on the sudden death tie break question !!!). Can Leeds MAG win back the trophy which was theirs for five years on the trot ? Come along and find out !!!!!
£1 entry fee p.p. Team (Max. 5) or individual entry. Great prizes for the winners (1st, 2nd & 3rd), plus booby prize for the least number of correct answers and a FREE buffet at half time !!!!
Spread the word and I hope to see you there. Let's pack the place to the rafters !!! All proceeds to the MAG Fighting Fund.
Magic Action Promotions (MAP), the events arm of Yorkshire MAG, which hosts the ITV, FYP & YPR bike rallies, take great pleasure in telling you we will be donating £70k to MAG (UK) and a further £5K to the Yorkshire region. This beats the 2010 donation so we have obviously done something right this year. We have kept some funds back to look after the company and a bit for just in case, but hopefully we will be able to donate that when we start selling tickets for the 2012 events in the new year.
These donations are vital for MAGs political lobbying activities, and indeed, for keeping MAG in the black in these difficult economic times.
The next MAP meeting is on the 6th of November and will be discussing the events in 2012 and to agree those pressing items that need to be sorted soon for the advertising etc. The meeting will be held at the Brighton Ferry Pub, Brieghton, Nr Selby, North Yorks, YO86DH, starting at 13:00 prompt. Tea and Coffee will be provided and bar meals they will be available on the day.
Every MAG member is more than welcome to attend the meeting and see how the MAP events are run, its more the merrier and MAP welcome you taking more of an interest or active role.

As we have for several years running now, we will be attending the City of Wakefield Memorial Sunday Parade & Service at the Wood Street War Memorial, to pay our respects. Meet from 10:30 onwards by the Queen Victoria statue, opposite Wood Street War Memorial
